About Project
We partnered with Certified Human Resources Professional (CPHR) on their 55th annual HR Conference and Tradeshow. The event brings together more than 1,200 attendees each year supporting British Columbia and Yukon, Canada. Consisting of a main plenary, concurrent breakout sessions, Tradeshow, and Executive Forums, we collaborated with the client to utilize technical design thinking to deliver an ‘Impact starts with you’ theme throughout all the events components, and stakeholder experience.
Line of business: Event production
We Delivered : To build an environment that would inspire as attendees walked into the room. we created a stage set utilizing LED video Wall and pixel mapped pillars that had content referencing the conference brand messaging, specifically spotlighting sponsorship logos. The stage set was focused on conference and sponsor branding to devote value and attention to contributors. The outside flanking projection screens were dedicated to critical content and IMAG including high caliber motivational speakers that included Peter Mansbridge, and Steve Cadigan.
To create an immersive experience lighting effects continued into the main room enveloping the attendees. we worked with the client to create a VIP lounge area at the front of the room whereby sponsors were able to engage in intimate conversation with attendees. We positioned multiple cameras and video recording systems to capture the sessions to be used for content purposes on the CPHR membership website.
Client Needs
A key objective was to deliver the theme of ‘Impact Starts With You’ throughout the conference and strike the right balance of facilitated learning and networking times to help meet the client’s four primary focuses to energize, inspire, connect and educate. FMAV went to work in designing an audio visual experience that would really wow attendees but deliver a unique set of values to additional stakeholders such as sponsors and speakers.
Transformative value (event outcomes)
Sponsorship increased more than 20% in 2018 from 2017, with an attendance increase of 10% from the previous year. Attendee’s overall satisfaction rating for the conference rated a strong 91%.
This conference is renowned as a ‘must attend’ event for HR professionals who need to stay ahead of the trends in subjects, such as employment law and legislation, talent management, organizational effectiveness and business strategy.
Through expert design consultation, solid reliable technology solutions and true alignment with the associations event outcomes and business objectives, the 2018 conference and tradeshow was the most successful to date.

For example, to fulfill our vision of a roving band, our AV Company designed and built a prewired rolling stage we called ‘The Bandwagon’.
