2023 Indigenous Partnerships Success Showcase
Objective
In June 2023, Encore was proud to partner with Resource Works Society for the third IPSS event, or Indigenous Partnerships Success Showcase. The event hosted approximately 1000 government officials, Indigenous groups and businesses, and larger corporations to highlights Indigenous success stories and business partnerships through networking opportunities, education sessions, social activities and their trade show.
The 2023 IPSS also included a historic presentation: a business panel to discuss economic reconciliation, given in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Snichim (Squamish language), and the first time a presentation of this kind has been given by an elder in this language.

Solution
- A plenary room including audio, projection, lighting to properly pivot between business sessions, band performances, dinner, and a fashion show
- SI (with the equipment partially sponsored), given in Squamish language and translated to English, allowed the presenting elder to address attendees in her own language
- Press Room with equipment for filming and audio capture
- Trade Show Booths including monitors on stands
- Audio support in all 3 separate reception areas
- LED Totems
Outcome
As tried and true partners, the Encore and Resource Works Society teams collaborated on session planning, while Encore was trusted to lead translation support and handling the technical aspects of the event. Having experience in working with Encore in other venues, the Resource Works Society team looked for guidance and trusted Encore’s judgement on how to make the historic 2023 event not only stand out in the VCC, but also run smoothly and comfortably for all presenters, participants, and attendees.
They were especially happy with the preparation and execution of the Squamish elder’s presentation, including working with and training the elder in charge of running translation for this keynote presentation.
