AVW-TELAV’s 2011 Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Report
Since being named one of three of the world’s first InfoComm International Green Award winners last year, we have given many interviews to the media and have been indentified in our industry as pioneers of the Green AV movement. This year, with the attention of the world on us, we felt privileged with the responsibility to aim at tackling social issues on a larger scale.
2011 saw the inception of our ‘You Care, So We Care’ committee, named after our company’s event-staging mantra, ‘You’re On, So We’re On’. This committee is made up of regional employee representatives from across the country. Its first national initiative was Movember, the month formerly known as November, in which men grow mustaches to raise money for men’s health awareness. The results of our first annual fundraiser were simply astonishing, as we surpassed our initial goal by more than $25,000. Other national endeavors included National Denim Day for a Cancer Cure and our ‘Events for Communities and Sustainability’ (ECOS) Project.
